City Boy Movement Embarks on Grassroots Transformation in Ogun State, Aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda

The City Boy Movement in Ogun State, under the strategic leadership of Alhaji Kamorudeen Yusuf, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Duties, and the coordination of Dr. Sulaimon Lateef Adegboyega (PhD), has launched a wide-reaching series of grassroots initiatives designed to uplift communities and empower future generations. These interventions are being executed in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, reflecting a national vision rooted in development, inclusion, and opportunity.


Across Ogun State’s three senatorial districts, the City Boy Movement is actively reshaping the educational landscape. Public primary schools in local government areas such as Ado-Odo/Ota, Yewa South, Sagamu, Ifo, and Abeokuta South have benefitted from substantial infrastructure support. Hundreds of students now learn in improved environments, thanks to the provision of chairs and tables that have eased overcrowding and revitalized classroom settings.


Beyond education, the Movement has taken bold steps to meet essential community needs. In the Sabo area, a newly installed borehole has drastically improved access to clean water, while food distribution campaigns across several communities have brought relief to families struggling with the rising cost of living.


Youth development remains at the core of the Movement’s agenda. Through targeted financial support, 50 young entrepreneurs have received ₦500,000 each to launch medium-scale businesses, while another 100 youths have been empowered with ₦200,000 grants to kick-start small enterprises. These efforts are strategically designed to tackle unemployment, reduce dependency, and stimulate local economies.


In support of economic inclusion, market women often the backbone of informal trade are not left behind. Over 30 women have been empowered with ₦200,000 each to expand their businesses and increase household income.


A particularly groundbreaking initiative is the scholarship scheme tailored for students in the tech sector. With prizes ranging from ₦1 million to ₦5 million, the program rewards innovation and academic excellence while fostering Nigeria’s growing digital economy. This is a clear signal that the City Boy Movement is investing not only in the present, but in the nation’s technological future.


Speaking on the initiatives, Alhaji Kamorudeen Yusuf emphasized that these efforts are not isolated charity projects but are deliberate contributions to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. “We are committed to translating Mr. President’s vision into tangible change starting from the grassroots. These interventions are about restoring hope, building capacity, and creating opportunity for everyday Nigerians,” he said.


Dr. Sulaimon Lateef Adegboyega also affirmed the Movement’s dedication to inclusive development, noting that each intervention was informed by local needs and executed with sustainability in mind.


The City Boy Movement’s work in Ogun State serves as a blueprint for citizen-led action in partnership with national priorities. As it continues to expand its reach, the Movement reaffirms its mission to drive change that is measurable, meaningful, and in harmony with the larger vision of a renewed and prosperous Nigeria.
